WHAT IS IT?
Healing Touch is a nurturing energy therapy that uses gentle, light, or near-body touch in order to facilitate your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Healing Touch emphasizes compassionate, heart-centered care. As such, it creates an optimal environment for the body's innate tendency for healing to occur. It works in harmony with, is complementary to, and may be integrated with standard medical care.

Healing Touch facilitates a deep sense of calm and relaxation as well as overall and specific responses for healing especially in situations such as:
Anxiety/Stress
Migraines/Headaches
Chemotherapy/Radiation Support

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
A Healing Touch session is typically administered while the client lies on a treatment table while fully clothed. However, depending on the client's needs, a session can be given in a chair, in a bed in a hospital room, nursing home, assisted living facility, and even hospice.
Every practitioner brings his or her own perspective and intuitiveness to their practice. As I hold licenses in various modalities, I am known to incorporate the use of aromatherapy, relaxing music, various methods of soothing heat, various tools for calming and cooling, and/or facial massage as appropriate.
WHAT ARE THE CREDENTIALS OF THE PROGRAM?
In 1993, certification of Healing Touch Practitioners began and was administered by the American Holistic Nurses Association. Additionally, Healing Touch Program is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education.
Healing Touch is widely respected and increasingly accepted in the healthcare community. It is offered at institutions both nationally and internationally. Locally, it can be found in such places as the National Institutes of Health, University of Maryland Hospital campuses, and DuPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington, DE for both patients and staff.
The program maintains the highest professional standards by maintaining a scope of practice, a code of ethics, and a national professional association.
